Hi and welcome to the PGCE student forum
The main purpose of this unofficial, student-run site is for the 2015 intake of Bridgend College PGCE students to share and discuss topics via the Forum outside college time. We might widen it to other courses in time but for now it's all ours!
If anyone is new to this type of message board you can create 'threads' or discussions, instant chat using the Shoutbox feature, upload files, run a poll on a subject, reply to an existing thread and so on. The Open University use forums a lot to help their distance learners communicate and share ideas so hopefully it can help us too when we're outside the college in our 'normal' lives.
NB: There are a few simple bits of housekeeping/ground rules to keep this a happy place:
1) Moodle is still the official course site and this forum is not intended to duplicate or replace it. If you think that is happening then please say something.
2) Although there are admins no-one is moderating this site - please show respect to other course members in your posts.
3) You can upload files here to share, but if you have an amazing resource the PGCE team may well scan/upload it to Moodle. We only have limited space so please link to anything that is linkable rather than uploading it e.g. images, video, audio files etc.
4) I promise any personal data you enter in the process of setting up your account will not be used for any other purpose and will be kept secure. It's worth creating an account if you think you might use the forum regularly, as you can edit your profile to be sent emails when people reply to your questions etc.
The site is pretty straightforward and the help is really good but if you have any persistent problems please let me know and I'll try to help. You can message me as Admin on here or grab me for a quick chat in college.
Happy Teaching!
Karen
